Troop 227 is a fun and energetic troop.
We meet on Monday evening at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Bartlett, Il
Our focus is on developing leadership, community service and promoting the core values of the Boy Scouts of America.
A Boy Scout Troop is the next level up from your boys time in Cub Scouts. However, Boy Scouting is much more than just a next step. Boy Scouts take all of the years of learning in the Cub scouts and applies them independently as they grow into leaders. Each Scout is allowed the opportunity to rise to a level of leadership within the Troop. The tasks are much more challenging and will help the boys develop the skills necessary to become leaders not only in the Troop, but also in life. Our Troop embodies the spirit of "boy run troop". The senior Scouts meet and develop plans for the upcoming year, make decisions on activities, trips, service projects and fundraisers. Parent and adult participation in the planning is minimal. We rely on the boys to develop fun and engaging activities to mentor the younger scouts as well as challenge the troop to exceed goals and proudly show what Boy Scouting is all about. Our adult leadership as well as parent involvement is crucial to the success of the troop. We provide a supporting role and a safe, secure environment for the boys to succeed. The skills learned through Boy Scouts will be carried with your sons into adulthood and help to mold them into productive, successful leaders.
